According to Color Psychology, green is the color of balance and harmony. It is also the color of growth, hope, spring, of renewal and rebirth. It is the sanctuary away from the stresses of modern living, restoring us back to a sense of well being. It is an emotionally positive color, giving us the ability to love and nurture ourselves and others unconditionally.
Here are some ways to add Emerald to any room. If your room is mostly neutrals you can add these gorgeous tables by Century as a focal point to the room. Another easy way to add emerald would be to order new pillows. Since Emerald is one of the predominate colors in nature, Emerald is everywhere in landscape art.
Emerald will pop against beiges, browns, grays and other neutrals. Emerald is also a great accent to blues and many pastels. In color theory Emerald’s complementary color is red. Used in small doses this works well. Be careful not to overdo it though or your friends may think you decorated your house for Christmas all year long. A good example to show how they can work together is shown in this chair by Wesley Hall.
Over the years, the kitchen, bedroom and living room have gone through transitions. As a St. Louis furniture store, we’re no stranger to the man cave and how to properly outfit it. How can you make your man cave the best on the block? Continue reading →

When you find the perfect sofa or rug for your home, the hope is that this piece will last you many years. If you have a four-legged friend (or two), you’ll eventually have to decide whether or not you’d like to allow them on your furniture. While there is no harm in allowing your dog or cat up one or two times to enjoy the movie with you and your family, allowing your dog free rein over the entire sofa can cause excess wear and tear. To help you protect your new sofa and keep your pets happy, consider these tips from a trusted Missouri furniture store. Continue reading →
At Dau Home Furnishings, we know that not all St. Louis families are in the market for the exact same furniture. That means that one size doesn’t fit all. You may have a 42-inch TV, but does that mean you should have the same entertainment center as the family up the block with the same TV? Probably not. Because we know what customization means to you, our St. Louis furniture store is proud to offer you options from Custom Shoppe. Continue reading →
Not all furniture is created equal. While your first coffee table or bed frame may have been poorly constructed from plywood, we know that quality is important to you and your family – and so is your budget. That’s why our St. Louis furniture store offers furniture in three categories – good, better and best. Continue reading →
